Recycling cookware: How to responsibly recycle cookware

We all have to do our part to protect the environment and planet for future generations. Reducing your carbon footprint, recycling and minimising what ends up in landfill are all positive and helpful actions to make the world a better place.

When you think of living sustainably, cookware might not be one of the first things that comes to mind, but it can make a difference. For example, throwing out your old cookware invariably means it ends up in landfill. And consider the raw materials such as extracted metals that go into manufacturing your new cookware.

At Tefal, we are committed to making a positive difference while continuing to produce well-designed and top quality cookware and kitchen appliances to help make your life easier in the kitchen. Our new Act Together initiative makes it easy for you to recycle your old cookware so it doesn’t end up in landfill.

What is Act Together?

Act Together is all about recycling, re-using and reducing. We collect old cookware and send it to partnering facilities where the metal materials such as aluminium, stainless steel, cast iron and copper will be recycled and repurposed to be used in a wide variety of products.

We’ve partnered with Myer to provide drop-off stations for old cookware, starting with 14 selected stores across Australian capital cities.

A brand new, eco-friendly product range

Complementing our Act Together initiative, Tefal has announced a brand-new range that consumers making conscious, sustainable choices can consider the next time they are purchasing cookware.

Eco Respect is a new induction non-stick range that is made from 100% recycled aluminium, ensuring a 90% reduction in carbon footprint compared to the environmental impact of new aluminium extraction.

Less CO2 created, less energy expended and a range of cookware that is endlessly recyclable. Eco Respect is cookware that is made to be re-made.

Best of all, Eco Respect delivers the high-quality, non-stick performance for which Tefal is renowned, offering perfect cooking results every time you step into the kitchen. This versatile and easy-to-use range of cookware is durable for daily cooking, features THERMO-SIGNALTM so you know when it is ready to cook, and is easy-to-clean inside and out.

The range includes three frypans, wok, sauce pan, sautee pan with lid, and stewpot with lid to take care of all your daily cooking needs. Eco Respect cookware is compatible with gas, electric, ceramic and induction stovetops and provides fast and even cooking with Thermo-FusionTM advanced cooking technology.

Tefal is making it easy for you to make better, more sustainable purchasing decisions, combining our Act Together used cookware recycling initiative with the brand new Eco Respect range of quality cookware that is made from 100% recycled aluminium.
